I was told to use a 1-lambda-long passively cylindrical dendrite.
From what I know, this should mean 1 times the lambda calculated from Ra, diam, frequency, and membrane capacitance?
Am I on the right path?
Also, how do the units work out for the lambda equation with Ra(ohm*cm), diam(micron), capacitance(microF/cm^2), and frequency(Hz)? Thanks!

I think I have found some possible answers?
1. I can just fix the default values as given, and use a frequency that is the average of my NetStims frequencies. Then I solve for diam while setting length to 1mm for 1-lambda?
2. 1e5 * the equation gives the current units in microns. from http://www.neuron.yale.edu/neuron/stati ... a_rev2.pdf

Typically such a statement means that the dendrite should be the same length as the length constant of an infinite cylinder that has the same diameter and electrical properties of cytoplasm and membrane.rllin wrote:I was told to use a 1-lambda-long passively cylindrical dendrite.
