Extracellular mechanism and boundary conditions

Post by sjoucla »

Hi everybody,

I'm interested in modeling the response of a neuron placed in an extracellular potential field; my concern is about boundary conditions : I read in the Neuron book that only sealed-end boundary conditions are implemented, but I'm not sure they are convenient to deal with my problem. In fact, my model gives some results very far away from my experimental data.

I would like to know if there is there is a way to implement a different boundary condition, for example, assessing Vm a 0 value at each end of the neuron (boundary theoretically developped in Rubinstein JT, 1993).

Thank you in advance for your help,

Sebastien
