I have a cell with 68 sections: a soma section and dend sections 0 though 66.

I want to plot a voltage trace at various places in the dendrites. When I open 'plot what' in the graph menu in order to choose the sections I want to see only a few sections show up in the menu:
dend[0].
dend[1].
dend[2].
dend[3].
dend[4].
dend[5].
dend[66].
dend[6].
soma.

I am not sure where all the other sections are. Does this mean something is wrong with my code?

When the number of instances of a name is very large, the variable name browser just shows a few examples. If you want to see something else, just click in the field where the tool constructs the variable name, and treat it like a "string entry field"--e.g. if you want to see something that belongs to dend[31], change
dend[1].whatever
to
dend[31].whatever

If you are ever in doubt about the existence of a particular section, at the oc> prompt just type
forall print secname()
to see all section names, or
forsec "bla" print secname
to print all section names that contain the substring "bla"
