Hi,
I installed Neuron 7.0 for MacOS X 10.4 and this was working fine till recently. Now, when i start Neuron, i got this message from the shell:

dyld: Symbol not found: _nrnmpi_myid
Referenced from: /Applications/NEURON-7.0/nrn/umac/lib/libnrnoc.0.dylib
Expected in: flat namespace

./nrngui.sh: line 77: 274 Trace/BPT trap ${NRNGUI}
nrngui exit status was 133
Press return key to exit

Any idea on how to fix it? For info, I uninstall neuron, restart the computer and reinstall neuron but nothing changed...
Thanks

It is mysterious to me why the installation suddenly stops working and then
reinstalling doesn't fix the problem.
Try uninstalling (dragging to trash) and installing
the latest dmg from
http://www.neuron.yale.edu/ftp/neuron/versions/alpha/
If that exhibits the same problem we can diagnose from there.

I did install what you have suggested and still doesn't work (got the same shell message).

I am not experiencing this on my mac osx 10.4.11 system. It is probably fastest to
take this to email where turnaround is faster and the forum does not get too cluttered
with useless suggestions that don't lead anywhere. So send messages to
michael.hines@yale.edu.
I'll start with the question: do you launch by double clicking the nrngui icon in the
/Applications/NEURON-7.1 folder?
