INTERVIEWS Software

Post by tmwilliams »

Hi, I'm a VERY new NEURON user and am trying to run a simulation that I found on the ModelDB website. The information page says that I need to have INTERVIEWS software installed in order to run the simulation. Can someone tell me what INTERVIEWS software is? I tried Googling INTERVIEWS software and all it turned up was a bunch of job interview related software, which is clearly not what the author was referring to.

What OS are you using, which version of NEURON have you installed, did you install from one of the binary installers or did you compile from source code, and what entry in ModelDB are you referring to?

I'm using Windows OC and NEURON version 7.0. I'm not sure what you mean by "did you install from one of the binary installers or did you compile from source code," I installed NEURON by going to the NEURON website and downloading the nrn-nn-setup.exe file and following the instructions. I can't seem to find the model I downloaded from ModelDB, perhaps it's been deleted? I think it was called "Compartemental models of TRN," at least that's what I've named the file.

The exe is a binary installer. Installs NEURON, configured and compiled for MSWin, including InterViews and everything else you need. That answers your question, but not mine, which is: what model are you referring to?

Unlikely. Look at the readme file. Should contain a citation and an accession number. What is the accession number?

I meant Windows OS. The read me file doesn't contain an accession number.

Or a citation?

What was the name of the zip file that you downloaded?
