How to cite NEURON

Post by ted »

Please be sure to cite NEURON if your work results in publications.
Of the sources currently listed on the "Publications about NEURON" page
https://nrn.readthedocs.io/en/latest/publications.html, you might want to choose

Carnevale, N.T. and Hines, M.L. The NEURON Book.
Cambridge, UK: Cambridge University Press, 2006.

which makes it easy for us to find your paper.

Of course, if your work relied especially on a particular feature that is described
in one or more of the other articles on that page, we wouldn't mind if you mention
those too!

Also--and this is just as important!--please tell us about your publications
so we can include them in the Bibliography page

Hi there,
Noticed that "https://neuron.yale.edu/neuron/nrnpubs" is a Page Not Found...
should point to->
https://www.neuron.yale.edu/neuron/publications/biblio
Also, unless you have a way to automate this or "Crowd source it" this may be a fantastical idea, but I wondered if you have considered including direct hyperlinks to the publications in this list of pubs that use NEURON. The only reason I mention this is that, in this land of metrics and Altmetrics papers that receive cite from other websites get an "impact" uplift sometimes. It is only a very small effect per link, but if theses were clickable link - each NEURON citing paper would have a slightly higher profile and in turn that ought to feedback to increasing further the profile of NEURON itself?
Just a thought, but as I say, unless there was a way to allow users to do it... it would be a massive and unjustified waste of time.
Kindest Regards
Richard
