Hi!
I am having trouble saving a session?! I am following a tutorial re:creating a channel from HH style specifications (under Channel Builder Tutorial) and cannot save. Could you please suggest any possible reasons?

What do you mean, "cannot save"? Exactly what is the symptom?

Hi!
The symptom is that when the "choose directory" window appears and I type in a name such as hhchannel.ses, the session does not save. No error message appears or anything but the session simply doesn't save.

What OS are you using? Exactly what is the path to the directory in which you are trying
to save the ses file? Do you have write privileges for that directory?

Are you sure you are using the file field and not the filter field to enter the filename?

Good point, Raj. The field at the bottom of the "save file" tool is only a
"filter field" i.e. it allows you to restrict the kinds of files that are displayed
(*.ses will show only ses files, *.* will show all files in a directory). The field
at the top of the save file tool is where you're supposed to type the name
for the file you want to save.
The reason I mentioned the restricted write permission of c:\ is that this
appears to be a feature of XP--maybe even a "new" feature, i.e. something
set up as a side-effect of installing one of the hundreds of "critical patches"
that MicroSloth is always releasing. Certainly there are many XP users who
seem unaware of this feature. I don't recall running into it in Win2K or
earlier.
