concentrations and reversal potential

Hi,

I'm a little confused about the relationship between internal/external concentrations and the reversal potential for the ions. They seem to run separately! I mean, if I change either concentration the rev pot is not updated. Am I doing something wrong?
If a mechanism says, for instance, READ ena, does it mean that it will only take care of the rev pot no matter what the nai and nao values are?

ionic concentrations and equilibrium potentials

NEURON's default behavior is to treat equilibrium potentials as independent
parameters, unless there is an ion accumulation mechanism that WRITEs the
concentration of that particular ion. However, ion_style() allows you to change
this behavior. Read about this here

You'll also find relevant info in
"Expanding NEURON's Repertoire of Mechanisms with NMODL"
which you can get from the Documentation page at www.neuron.yale.edu
